    > Wandering pig slows traffic on Interstate 75 ... April 17/08
A wandering pig tied up traffic on Interstate 75 in Cobb County Thursday morning as commuters slowed down to get a look. Marietta Police spokesman Mark Bishop said the pig apparently came off a small truck that was traveling southbound about 9:30 a.m. Traffic was temporarily halted to rescue the pig, which sustained minor injuries... cont...
    > Good news for Athens-Atlanta commuter rail ... April 14/08
News that a funding scheme might be developed rather quickly for an Atlanta-to-Marietta commuter rail line, and for an Atlanta-to-Lovejoy line as well, should be welcomed by advocates for the long-envisioned Athens-to-Atlanta commuter rail line. At first glance, the new focus on an Atlanta-Marietta line - which could, if built, do much to relieve the often-jammed Interstate 75 corridor - might seem to presage a dimming of the already limited focus on an Athens-Atlanta line... cont...
    > Connector repaving comes with clear skies ... April 12/08
Repaving work was scheduled to resume Sunday morning on Atlanta's Downtown Connector, promising another day of possible delays for weekend motorists. The massive project kicked off on Saturday, following two previous weekends in which bad weather forced postponement. The work is scheduled to continue on weekends through November. This weekend work was scheduled to start on a five-mile stretch of northbound I-75/85 between University Avenue and 10th Street. Three lanes were to be closed... cont...
    > Repaving for Dowtown Connector to begin this weekend ... April 11/08
A repaving project for the main interstate artery running through Atlanta is scheduled to start Saturday morning. The so-called Downtown Connector where interstates 75 and 85 merge in the city will have most lanes closed from 7 a.m. Saturday through 5 a.m. Monday. State Department of transportation officials say the work, which will be done only on the weekends, will take 30 weeks or more. The project has been delayed by rainy weather the last two weekends. DOT officials say work was scheduled to begin Friday night but expected showers will keep workers away until Saturday... cont...
    > Baby Zebra Rescued from along i-75 Atlanta ... April 10/08
It must have been an unusual site: A baby zebra eating grass near exit 201 on I-75 south of Atlanta. Folks from Noah's Ark, an exotic animal rescue center in Locust Grove, came and picked up the animal Tuesday. The young male zebra was severely injured, probably falling off a truck or trailer and the was likely hit by another vehicle... cont...
    > I-75 Repaving postponed again because of weather ... April 4/08
More good news for downtown Atlanta commuters this weekend. Georgia Department of Transportation officials said Friday the repaving project on the so-called Downtown Connector has been postponed for a second weekend because of the weather forecast, which calls for rain. The eight-month project will be done on Fridays and will continue on the weekends on the road where Interstates 75 and 85 converge and lead into Atlanta... cont...
    > Truckers circle Atlanta in protest of diesel prices ... April 2/08
A convoy of independent truckers circled metro Atlanta on Tuesday as part of a nationwide protest against rising diesel-fuel prices that are approaching $4 a gallon nationally. About 30 truckers gathered Tuesday morning at the Flying J truck stop in Jackson for the convoy about 40 miles north on Interstate 75 to Atlanta... cont...
